November is the time to list your holiday rental on the Internet
The clocks have now gone back and we have long dark evenings, what better time to think about next year’s holiday and that is the time when the holiday home owner should be thinking about marketing their property.
With more and more people owning holiday rental properties in Europe and worldwide it is most important that the owners can give the property as much exposure as possible.
In many cases they have a large mortgage to service and as the number of properties available grow the more important it is to get the marketing right.

Initially advertising costs were around €135 per year (£95) and although a property owner would pay this figure and much more to advertise in a colour magazine with not too high a circulation, many did not trust the Internet. “They could physically touch a magazine and did not have this type of confidence with the Internet” according to Philip Suter of jml property Services.
The company decided to re-brand and the replacement site called jmlvillas.com. A much easier name and at the same time advertising was changed to approximately €17 (£11.75 inc VAT) per year. By this time people had more confidence and for the price of one year’s advertising you can’t actually buy a lot explains Philip; “a couple of rounds of drinks in a bar or maybe put a small quantity of fuel in your car!”
jmlvillas.com offers plenty of information for owners letting their property and advice on legal regulations, insurance, taxes, swimming pool regulation reminders in France and even to look out for rental scam con customers! They have information on holiday destinations and have pages on news issue for the countries they cover. Like with property owners, there is a very comprehensive check list for renters.
