Planning your Vacations in Javea Spain
By Peter J. Mason
Javea is located about eighty kilometres north east of Alicante, between Denia and Altea. Most people use the Alicante airport for flights into this area. This is a large international airport with flights from all over the world. Several discount airlines fly into this airport as well.
The city is situated between two bays: the Cabo San Martin and Cabo San Antonio. There are many natural and cultural attractions in the area. The climate is very favourable year round in the region. The average temperatures range from forty degrees Celsius in the summer, and generally go no lower than ten degrees Celsius in the winter months.
Places to Stay in Javea
There are three basic areas in Javea: the village, port and beach areas. The port is a busy area. There is plenty to see and do in this area. There are several bars and restaurants around the harbour area.
The village is located about three kilometres inland from the port. There are plenty of quaint shops for browsing in the village area. If you want to experience the local lifestyle of the area, consider staying in this area. You can find villas and apartments for rent in the village. You can rent from a travel agent or directly from the property owner.
The beach areas are very popular, especially in the summer. There are numerous hotels along the beach area as well as apartments for rent. If you plan to spend most of your time soaking in the sun, consider renting a beach property or staying in a hotel near the beach.
Attractions in Javea
The city offers many attractions and sites to see. The area is home to several old churches, which are popular tourist attractions. The Inglesia de San Bartolome is an old church that is a landmark in the area. This church was built in the twelfth century.
The Soler Blasco Museum is a popular tourist attraction. This museum holds the treasure of Javea. The treasure consists of jewellery from centuries past.
The view from Cabo de Nao San Martin is breathtaking. This can be reached by walking up a path from the harbour area. The view of the Cabo de Nao is spectacular. The Cabo de Nao is a small hill with a lighthouse. It can also be reached by car.
The nature park of Montgo is located on the sea in Javea. This park has abundant flora and fauna. The park is home to rare birds and plant species. It is a cultural heritage site and is a popular tourist attraction.
Golf lovers will enjoy the many courses in the area. You may want to stay in a hotel at a golf resort to be close to the course. Apartment and villa rentals are also available near most golf courses. Many of these resorts offer other amenities such as swimming pools, spas, restaurants and tennis.
If you are planning to travel around the area, you may want to consider a car hire. There are several companies that operate at the airport, or in the city. Hiring a car at the airport is easier. If you choose a company in town, most will pick you up at the airport and drop you off again at the end of your vacation.
You will need to reserve the car and your accommodations in advance. This is especially important when travelling in the summer months. This is the busy travel season in this region. Waiting until the last minute could result in nothing being available. Consider booking on line at least a few months in advance for the least hassle on your Javea vacation.
