Sennybridge is a village on the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons about nine miles west of Brecon. The house was built about 100 hundred years ago and has been used as the village post office and a drapers shop at various times in its history.

Large through lounge and entrance hall on the ground floor and a dining room and kitchen in the basement that opens onto the enclosed garden at the rear. There is full oil-fired central heating with two open fires (basement and lounge) for back up heating.

Logs are supplied for the open fires and all bed linen and towels are included in the price.

Local Information

There is one general shop, a Post Office, 2 garages and 3 pubs. (The Post Office sells a limited stock of groceries and other household goods. The garage at the end of the village now has a Londis store and is open from early morning until late evening) There are daily buses between Brecon and Swansea and Brecon and Llandovery with links to other towns in the area. Several pubs in the Sennybridge area provide meals. Recommended are The Tanners Arms in Defynock (1 mile) and the The Shoemakers Arms in Pentre Bach (3 miles). There is also The White House on the edge of Sennybridge for a restaurant meal Brecon is nine miles away and has a Kwik Save, a Co-operative Store and a Safeway Supermarket. There are weekly markets on a Tuesday and Friday. Four local butchers selling local meat and many other gift and souvenir shops. It has all four major banks. There is an information centre in the short term car park.

Leisure Facilities

It is a good centre for walking, fishing and pony treking. It is also ideal for observing Red Kites and buzzards and as well as many other birds. Brecon has a theatre, a museum, leisure centre, a cinema. The National Park Visitors Centre near Libanus (about 8 miles) is well worth a visit for the views it commands and for the wide range of information and activities on offer. It also has a cafe/restaurant. Other tourist attractions include the Dan yr Ogof show caves and The Big Pit mining museum.
