Old Bridge is a beautiful 16th century Manor house nestling in rural south Somerset, with a 2 acre garden, tennis court & heated pool. The house sleeps 12. It was built in 1580 as a small Elizabethan Manor house for the daughter of the then owners of Wigborough Manor, which lies a mile across the fields. There is no cellar- Elizabethan houses did not have them, but plenty of spacious accommodation.

Bedrooms
On the first floor there are two big south facing rooms with hand basins. One with 3 single beds and the other with a kingsize double and single bed. There is a smaller single room also with a hand basin. The master bedroom has a luxurious 5'6" double bed and ensuite shower, and windows looking east & west onto the front lawn. On the top floor there are 2 attic rooms — a single with basin and a 5ft double, and a power shower room with basin and loo.
Bathrooms
The main bathroom has WC, basin & large enamel bath and airing cupboard. Ensuite shower & WC to master bedroom and Shower room & WC on 2nd floor
Living Rooms
There are two sitting rooms, both with televisions, they have deep sofas, wood burners and one has a large inglenook fireplace. The smaller one has a piano. There are two dining rooms to use if you want a formal dinner, the closest one to the kitchen seats eight on a period refectory table in a baronial hall type atmosphere.
Kitchen
Entrance to the kitchen from outside is through one of two "back kitchens", one with the dishwasher, the other with the washing machine and WC. The kitchen is very spacious with four-oven aga, pine dresser and a large kitchen table, suitable for family meals .
Outside
There are two main doors out into the garden, one leads to the patio on the south side, the other through the front porch onto the lawn. There are 2 acres of gardens, a heated swimming pool, with changing room and a tennis court. There is also a bar-b-que, plenty of garden furniture and a croquet set.
Local Information
The nearest village is South Petherton, just over a mile away and has a bank, Post Office and village pubs, shops and restaurants.
Leisure Facilities
Excellent location for visits to Bath, Clarks Village(shoe makers) at Street, Exmoor, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury, Wells or leasure parks at Crealy or Brean or all within an easy drive. The property is located approximately 40 minutes drive from the south coast — Lyme Regis, Weymouth.
